Ron DeSantis and the Cabinet have approved spending more than $97 million on land conservation. This ensures the land won’t be developed in the future, helping protect wildlife and agriculture forever. Under the terms of the deal, the landowners retain ownership and agricultural use of the land in exchange for selling the property’s development rights. The owners of a 3,634-acre cattle ranch and sod farm in southern Polk County have secured a $10.7 million conservation easement from the state.
